Comprehensive body analysis report for a 51-year-old female on the JC Health Pro Scale highlighting high visceral fat and skeletal muscle index

Beyond the Scale: The Ultimate Guide to Your Body Composition Report

A standard scale only tells you your weight, which is often a lie. A "healthy" weight can hide dangerous internal fat, while a "heavy" weight might actually be a sign of elite muscle density.

At JC Health, we use the Pro 8-Electrode Scale to provide 28 critical indicators of your health. In this guide, we compare two real-life reports—a 27-year-old male and a 51-year-old female—to show you exactly what to look for.

  1. The "Big Picture" (Body Score & Age)
JC Health 8-electrode body composition report for a 27-year-old male showing healthy skeletal muscle mass and low visceral fat grade

Think of these as your overall health "GPS" and your body's internal clock.

  • Body Score:
    • The 27yo Male: Scored 75/100, a solid "Standard" baseline.
    • The 51yo Female: Scored 67/100, indicating more room to optimize her muscle-to-fat ratio.
  • Body Age:
    • The 27yo Male: His body age is 23 (Winning against the clock!).
    • The 51yo Female: Her body age is 54—three years older than her actual age, likely due to high visceral fat.

2. The "Engine" (Muscle & Protein)

Muscle is the only tissue that burns energy while you sleep and protects your joints as you age.

  • Skeletal Muscle Mass:
    • Male Targets (Standard): 27.1kg – 33.1kg.
    • Female Targets (Standard): 20.3kg – 24.9kg.
    • The Insight: Our 51yo female has 25.2kg of muscle ("Excellent"). Even though she is overweight, this strong foundation means she can "burn" fat much faster than someone with low muscle.
  • SMI (Muscle Quality):
    • The Goal: Maintain a score above 7.0 $kg/ to prevent falls and frailty. Both samples are in the "Strong" zone (7.4 and 7.6).

3. The "Vitality Guard" (Visceral Fat)

This measures the "hidden" fat wrapping around your heart and liver. It is the most important health number you own.

  • The Target: Stay between Grade 1 – 9.
  • Men vs. Women:
    • Men: Usually store fat in an "Apple" shape (visceral first). Our 27yo is at a healthy Grade 3. If a man hits Grade 10+, heart health becomes a major priority.
    • Women: Often have a "Pear" shape (hip fat) until age 50. After menopause, fat shifts inward to the visceral area. Our 51yo sample is at Grade 13 ("High"), which puts pressure on her internal organs.

4. The Alignment Check (Segmental Analysis)

Our Pro scale uses 8 electrodes (including a handle) to measure each limb individually, unlike 4-electrode home scales that only "guess" your upper body.

  • Muscle Balance: We check if your left and right limbs are even. Imbalance leads to overcompensation, which causes chronic knee and back pain.
  • Segmental Fat: Our 51yo female has 196% fat in her legs. This specific data tells her she needs circulation-boosting exercises, like a mini-bike, to help move that energy.
