Most people see a pillow as just a product. But for me, the JC Health 3-Layer Adjustable Cervical Pillow is a story of persistence, DNA-deep beliefs, and a promise to Singaporean families that I would never let them down.
The Research Stage: Solving the "Singapore Shoulder"
Two years ago, when I started JC Health, I spent my weekends at neighborhood bazaars. I met broad-shouldered men who couldn't find a pillow high enough, and elderly couples who were in constant pain because their "standard" pillows offered no support.
I went into deep research mode. I wasted many samples and prototypes, communicating daily with my factory. I was the first one to sleep on every single sample. After a week of testing the final 3-layer prototype, I felt that "cloud-like" cradle. I knew we had found the solution: a pillow that could adjust from 11cm to 17cm to fit any body type.
The 11 PM "Test of Faith": The Family of 6
We launched our first batch with just 9 pillows in a box. One specific order defined our future: a customer received his first pillow on August 27. By 11 PM that same night, he ordered five more pillows for his wife and kids.
This "Family of 6" became my inspiration. If one pillow could be adjusted to fit a father, a mother, and four children, I had created a true "Family Solution."
The Nightmare: Wrong Shipments and Maritime Collisions
But then, everything that could go wrong, did.
In September, a shipment arrived that was wrong—the factory had accidentally shipped a "Low Profile" fixed pillow instead of my custom 3-layer adjustable design. I promised to fix it, but then our replacement shipment was caught in a major maritime collision near Nansha Port on October 25, 2025. The ship was held for investigation for nearly a month. I had to tell the "Family of 6" and many others that their wait would now stretch to three months.
The Birth of the Dual Case System & Family Bundle
During this crisis, I listened to feedback from a young couple where the husband loved "High Profile" and the wife needed "Low Profile". This led to two major decisions:

The Dual Case System: I customized an expensive second, lower-profile pillow case to be included in every set for free. No matter your height, you now have a case that fits your layers perfectly.

The Family Bundle: Inspired by family's order for 6 pillows in total, I created a special Family Bundle. I realized that families in Singapore moving to new homes for the New Year need a "no-regret" solution. With this bundle, every family member can customize their own pillow height—from kids to grandparents.
