Running a local business in Singapore brings incredible moments, but days like today remind us why we do what we do.
This morning, a lovely elderly couple from New York visited our store. They had reached out yesterday, but as I was out attending an event, we scheduled their visit for today. The moment they walked through the door, their relief was palpable — they were genuinely thrilled to have found us.
The 30-Hour Journey Back to New York
They had flown into Singapore to visit their son, who works as a professor at a medical institute here. However, the long transit journey to Singapore — spanning nearly 30 hours with layovers — had taken a severe toll on the husband's back.
With their return flight scheduled for tomorrow (stopping over in Japan for 6 hours and Chicago for another 4 hours before landing in New York), he was deeply anxious about enduring those long hours in tight airplane seats again.
